Work Package 2 will develop the methodological and technical backbone of the Australian horizon scanning (HS) function.
It will assess local and international data sources, establish data management infrastructure aligned with national requirements, and build an Australian HS database in partnership with the UK’s NIHR – Innovation Observatory. The work will include piloting AI-assisted tools to enhance data identification, filtering and reporting. Use-case example statistics will be used to test and refine the database and methodologies. Outputs will include validated short- and long-term HS methodologies and a functional, secure, fit for purpose HS database assisted tools to enhance data identification, filtering and reporting.
